ABOUT the leash – Command, Squirt, and Praise. The leave it leash is a dog training device for obedience. By disciplining your dogs with a simple spray of plain water. By squirting your water to reinforce incorrect behaviors, it breaks the concentration and re-directs to proper behavior. The water is a distraction to get the behavior to stop. Some dogs may think it’s a game, and that’s ok too! If you have a major behavior problem always seek advice of a trainer or consult a behaviorist. ABOUT the inventor –
As a dog lover and owner, Cheryl always loved walking her dog Lola, a Chinese Shar-Pei; the top ten most stubborn dog breeds. After a couple of years of walking Lola, it was getting harder and harder to walk her as she was getting very aggressive with other dogs. Cheryl tried many trainers, treats, choker chains & horns. Nothing seemed to be working until she used a simple spray of water with the command “Leave it” Lola immediately reacted. A few weeks later Cheryl realized not only was she correcting her dog but other aggressive dogs that were off-leash without their owners. To her amazement, it was working! She had stopped many dog fights with a spray of water and a firm command “LEAVE IT” That’s when she knew she had to create a leash that was easy to carry and easy to use to help others have more control over their dog walks and feel safe too.
THE PRODUCT –
The Leave It Leash is a 4 in 1 dog training leash that houses a water spray device and a collapsible BPA- free drinking water bowl with room to store bags and treats. Along with a reflective coating for nighttime dog walking. The command “leave it’ and the simple spray of plain water will help train your dog’s behavior. Also, use the collapsible bowl to give your dog a drink of water when needed. HOW TO USE THE PRODUCT – (note: Water is Harmless and Humane way to correct your dog’s bad behavior). Command, Squirt and Praise. Before you start your walk, be sure to fill the water compartment with clean water. During the walk monitor your dog for unwanted behavior. Use the command “leave it” while using 1 quick squirt of water at your dog’s nose “not at the body, that won’t work” to distract and divert the bad behavior. You should notice immediately that your dog will become distracted at what they were focused on. Don’t squirt directly into eyes and ears. Praise dog immediately when behavior changes. Practice makes perfect so use this method every time you go for your walk when needed. Eventually, you will only need to say the command and spray the water in front of them and not at their nose.
